Social Events

* Monday evening 

Join an author/illustrator at an iconic Waikato venue for a cafe meal.We would like to provide you with an opportunity to meet and listen to one of the five invited authors and illustrators who will be located in various venues in and around Hamilton.

  • At Willow Glen Robyn Belton - illustrator of the well loved Greedy Cat books
  • At Canvas Mark Carthew - one of Australia's vibrant children's book authors
  • At the Stadium Vince Ford - author of popular novels such as Boyznbikes and Possums2u.
  • At the Creamery Jenny Hessell - of Grandma McGarvey fame
  • Also at the Creamery Alison Robertson - author of Knocked for Six and Finding Isabella.  Sorry, this session at the Creamery with Jenny and Alison is now full.

Transport will be provided from the hotel to the venue of your choice.
The cost for the meal is $50 and this is in addition to the conference fee. Please select your first three choices as you complete the registration form and include the $50 in the total figure at the bottom of the form.  We will attempt to allocate your first choice but numbers are limited at some venues.

* Conference Dinner

This will be held at the Kingsgate hotel on the Tuesday evening and the cost is included in the registration fee.
 

Books for Oceania

Scholastic has once again offered their generous support in providing books for purchase for the Oceania Region.  For every book bought from their stands and donated to Oceania Scholastic will donate a book of equivalent value. This year books purchased will be freighted free of charge by Scholastic to Veiuto Primary School in Fiji.

All registrations submitted online prior to this date will be invoiced at the early bird rate.

After 31 March, 2008

Note: All fees are GST inclusive. Payment must be made in NZ dollars. Receipts will be available in your registration packs on Sunday.

All queries concerning registrations should be emailed to Christine Jeffs at cjeffs@waikato.ac.nz

Registration cancellations will not be accepted unless made in writing/email. Cancellations will be refunded less $100 to cover administration costs up to and including Friday 20 June, 2008. As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person without incurring any cost penalty. The conference committee must be advised of the transfer in writing/email, including original invoice number and payment by 4 July, 2008.

No cancellations will be refunded after Friday 20 June, 2008. 

Accommodation:

Contact the Kingsgate Hotel directly to book your accommodation and ask for the NZRA conference room rate of $130 per night, single or twin share.  There is an additional charge of $33.75 for triple rooms.
